Kinds of PatentPia Searches

PatentPia offers two types of searches: i) searches provided by PatentPia GoldenCompass (GC), a specialized search service, and ii) searches provided by PatentPia Search. (Note)PatentPia Search(search.patentpia.com) enables i) full text search of patents by nation, ii) search for events such as transactions/litigations/trials/M&A/investments, and iii) search for patents used in events. PatentPia GoldenCompass provides a search function centered on analysis contents, which is different from non-exclusive patent search.

At GoldenCompass (GC) Search Service

There are three main modes of search services provided by GoldenCompass (GC). i) Quick mode, which provides a simple 1 search term input field, ii) Advanced search mode, which provides multiple search term input fields, and iii) Special mode (coming soon), which leads to search results that meet special purposes/characteristics through various search term input fields.

• (Note) The search services provided by the PatentPia Search service can be categorized according to the kind of search results: i) Patent Search, which outputs a list of patents; ii) Event Search, which outputs a list of events; and iii) Content Search (coming soon), which outputs contents.
• Event search allows you to search various events related to patents such as Litigation/Trial/Patent Transaction/Standards/FDA approvals/Government-funded R&Ds/M&A/Investment, etc. Patent search has i) Patent search of consultation, which outputs general patents, and ii) Event patent search, which outputs patents related to events such as transaction/litigation/judgment/standards/FDA approvals/government R&D/M&A/investment, etc.

Kinds of search results (subject/target/purpose)

The kinds of search results provided by the GoldenCompass (GC) search service include: i) companies, ii) fields, iii) keywords, iv) researchers, and v) represented (IP law firms). The fields include i) technology fields, ii) products-parts fields, iii) products-materials fields, iv) patent classifications (CPC/IPC, etc.), and v) concept fields (coming soon). These can be single, but can also be combined, such as a company's keywords.

• In the PatentPia scheme, keywords are characterized by the absence of an upper/lower hierarchy. Fields differ from keywords in that they all have a hierarchy.
• Equal/equivalent expressions are present in keywords and can also be present in fields.
